What makes students calm down, perk up, focus, stretch, and have fun? Yoga. Our professional development trainings provide fun and relaxation while teachers learn about the many benefits of yoga. No yoga experience is needed. The trainings are designed for all shapes, sizes, physical abilities, and ages. Learn how to incorporate simple yoga exercises and stress management techniques into your existing curriculum. And learn some simple relaxation techniques to manage your own stress. Appropriate for Hospice staff, nurses, and social workers in any professional setting. Please see our page on Compassion Fatigue. click here Trainings offer two components and can be tailored to your professional needs: (1) to teach stress management tools for the social workers self-care plan Self-Care Plan for the Staff Participants will do a simple yoga practice so they can experience the benefits. In addition, participants will be introduced to the GTY 5 minute relaxation breaks (an audio tool) that can be done with clients or at home. (2) to give the clinician some simple tools to provide the benefits of yoga to their clients. Tools to teach Clients/Patients Some of the populations that benefit from yoga programs include: hospice patients; abuse victims; addiction recovery clients; the mentally/emotionally challenged; physically disabled; and clients with body image/self-esteem issues. Yoga can also be incorporated into family therapy and play therapy.
