    Yoga for Compassion Fatigue

It was so fun to share some yoga for compassion fatigue ideas with the social workers from Liberty Dialysis (from UT,CO, and ID) today. Some comments:
” I love the way you connected the yoga so closely with the social work.”
“Presenter was approachable and down to earth. I loved the presentation of the brain/science research based in science.”
“It was a nice balance of thought and practice — it reminded me of what i “used to do’ — inspires mre to practice, to start up again. And I feel calmer than I have felt since last spring! Thank you! It was just great!! You have piqued my interest in the science side — and the social work connection.”
If you have a group that might benefit from some of these ideas, please get in touch. Offered for both nurses and social workers CE credits!

SOLA STIKK YOGA: For Cancer Survivors

More on the adaptive benefits of SOLA Stikk Yoga from a participant in a Women Beyond Cancer Retreat:

“The beauty of the SOLA Yoga Stikk is that it allows the benefits of  yoga to be accessible to more people.  Yoga had been recommended to me  as a gentle form of exercise and a wonderful body, mind and spirit  connection.  It sounded great, since I was not one to exercise on a  regular basis nor did I particularly enjoy it.  I tried Yoga several  times yet I did not have the balance necessary and my body just did  not want to contort into the poses.  I was then given the opportunity  to try Yoga with Nicole Hamory’s SOLA Yoga Stikk.  The Stikk supported  me and provided me with the balance necessary to participate and enjoy  the benefits as well.  Congratulations, Nicole, for including those of  us who may not be regular exercise enthusiasts so that we may also  reap the benefits that Yoga can provide!”  Deborah Mutter  Miami, Florida

Check it out on Youtube   A great way to gain confidence, balance, or just deepen your yoga practice.  Thank you, Nicole Hamory Cavallaro, for the wonderful creation!

“I have Yoga in the past but never did I enjoy it as much as the SOLA  Yoga Stikk by Nicole Hamory.  It feels even better the days that  follow.  Your body feels so good as if you have exercised for hours  even though you had only spent an hour and the Stikk has done all the  work for you..  I am definitely going to continue the SOLA Yoga Stikk practice!   ~ Marie-Therese Retourne  Washington, D.C.

Sharing Stress Breaks with Nurses and Social Workers

This past week GreenTREE Yoga has been able to share ideas about yoga stress breaks at  several annual conferences:

The Utah Domestic Violence Council, the Utah Nurses Association, and the Utah Society for Perianesthesia Nurses (USPAN).  Folks seemed very receptive to incorporating a few simple stretching and breathing breaks into their busy days, both for self care and for their patients/clients/families.

One of our more popular suggestions is three quick breathing breaks to get ‘unstuck’.  We will have the free audio available next week, so check back.  The handout is available now  Click Here. Please share your ideas on how you  use these breaks.  Breathe Easy!
