We’ve go two more Family Fun Yoga programs coming up!
We will be at the Kearns Library on Monday March 12th at 7 pm and at the Tyler Library on Tues March 13th at 7. Here’s a comment from last month: “Thank you so much to Green Tree Yoga for the family yoga class. My family all enjoyed it very much. I especially appreciate some of the skills that my daughters are using – as it happens, at this very moment as I am writing this – to quiet down. My husband liked it so much he’s willing to try an adult yoga class with me. Thanks!” Rebecca Howard.”

    Family Yoga Fun

Family yoga is one of my favorite to teach.  The kids have so much fun, and the parents are relaxed and get a wonderful introduction to the benefits of yoga.   If you haven’t tried family yoga, you might like it!  Ask a local studio if they offer a class, or suggest they introduce it!

It’s Winter Fun at our Family Yoga programs around the valley.  We had a full house at the Hunter Library Monday evening.  Here is our schedule for the next three months – Hunter Lib: Wed 2/1 and 3/7.  Tyler Tues.  1/10; 2/14; 3/13 and Kearns, Mond. 1/9;2/13/ 3/12.  All shapes and sizes welcome to come and laugh with us!

    Help Kids Relax

    Yoga and rock climbing!

Sometimes you just get inspired!  Before bouldering (rock climbing) at Joe’s Valley in southern Utah,  Dylan did a downdog on the bouldering mats that were still on top of the car!  Yoga and rock climbing go together so well — focus, calm, strength, determination, flexibility, and focus (again).  Fun stuff!

    Kids Yoga Teacher Training

We had a lot of fun at the Kids’ Yoga Teacher Training at the lovely Avenues Yoga in SLC on Saturday. We talked a bit about how to offer yoga to kids, and then we invited some kids to join us so we could see how it works! For more information on kids yoga, visit our website at greentreeyoga.org.  Here are some comments from the training.  I feel such gratitude that I am able to connect with folks who work with kids and share what I have learned in my 30 years of teaching.

“The services you provide for children in our community is truly inspirational… I also really appreciated you talking about yoga as a safe place-  that was really good to be reminded of. ~ JI, SLC

“Honestly, the training was amazing. I don’t wanna just give you useless, complimental fluff, but in all sincerity the training was amazing. I’ve been wanting to volunteer w you guys for a while but I was nervous to work w kids. I’m good w kids cause I’m energetic and love to play, but I didn’t know to incorporate yoga. That was one of the best things that you taught me, being fun and noisy is exactly the point. Also, the ‘safe’ and ‘choice’ principles helped a ton. Just learning that if they don’t want to, that’s fine. I def appreciated your shpeel at the beginning where you incorporated the scientific aspect of yoga. “  – RB, SLC

Many thanks to Avenues Yoga  in Salt Lake City for sharing their beautiful site!
