Jennifer Farrell Uber, RTY

"One of the many reasons I love to teach yoga is because it is a way for me to to contribute to a more peaceful, positive world.  I enjoy assisting people on their journey of looking inward to discover the true beauty that resides in each of our souls. Through the practice of yoga we can empower ourselves. The energy which empowers our own mind and body has the potential to vibrate throughout the universe and influence those around us in a more positive manner."

Jen began experimenting with yoga in 2001 after several injuries. After a short time, she realized the practice of yoga extended beyond just the physical. She began to explore yoga philosophy while also trying out various styles of yoga.  Most recently, Jen completed a Yoga in Action course offered by Off the Mat Into the World and has been recommended, by the facilitators of this course, to teach her own Yoga in Action groups. Jen has had the opportunity to deepen her practice by attending trainings and workshops with John Friend (founder of Anusara Yoga), Hala Khouri (co-founder of Off the Mat Into the World), Carolyn Belko (certified Iyengar Teacher), and certified Anusara teachers Desiree Rumbaugh and BJ Galvan. Although Jen is a certified yoga teacher who is registered with Yoga Alliance and has completed 115 hours of Anusara Immersion with certified Anusara Teacher Adam Ballenger, her studies are far from being complete. She is currently working towards the Anusara Inspired status and toward the even longer road of Anusara Certification. She is forever grateful for all of the great teachers, role models and inspiration in her life!

Dawn Young, RTY

"I like teaching yoga because I enjoy giving people some tools to feel good and know more about themselves. I enjoy helping people figure out the puzzle by being playful and exploring."

She has worked for many years with children with autism and adults with various disabilities.   Dawn has been practicing yoga for 15 years and is certified through the Ananda Seva Mission in Santa Rosa, California. She particularly enjoys practicing Anusara yoga, but Dawn loves that there are so many styles and talented teachers here in Salt Lake.

In her free time, Dawn is a rock climber, and has always felt that yoga and climbing go hand in hand. She also teaches & coaches climbing. In addition, Dawn is a certified rock climbing guide.  Dawn teaches yoga at Momentum Indoor Climbing gym, KULA Yoga Center, the Jewish Community Center, and for many GreenTREE Yoga programs.

Juliet Richardson, RYT

Juliet is a certified yoga instructor from the East Coast.  She discovered yoga 11 years ago in NYC while working in the fashion and music industries.  Her interest in yoga grew from an overwhelming need for stress relief from her high-pressured life.  Moving to Salt Lake City one year ago provided the opportunity to serve in a variety of settings, wherein she began teaching throughout the Valley. As both a student and teacher of Hatha and Vinyasa Flow, she also enjoys Ashtanga and Bikram Yoga and is well versed in the fundamentals of Yoga and anatomy.  She enjoys introducing and building the foundation for a successful personal practice in her classes, having developed a flow that appeals to all levels, aiming to center and calm the mind while realigning and strengthening the body.

Juliet has contributed her many talents to help create the GreenTREE LittleTREE Yoga program and DVD/CD (Yoga for ages 2-6 years).

Joanne Payne, LMT, PE Program Director

Joanne has a BS in Physical Education (PE), with a concentration in Adult Fitness, and is a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT).  For over 25 years, she has taught anatomy and movement education.  As Director of PE for a special needs school, she integrated adaptive PE programs, including yoga, to insure the success of each student. In the Adult Fitness industry, she developed comprehensive fitness training programs, including a cardiac rehabilitation program for heart attack survivors and a strength training manual for safer and more effective resistance training.

As a natural extension of both her background in PE and fitness and her background as a competitive athlete, Joanne has extended her massage therapy skills into sports massage. She has worked with many sports and teams, including Olympic Teams, professional and University teams and individual athletes.  As team therapist for Salt Lake Aquatics Program, she taught yoga and performed massage to enhance performance of students from ages 5-21 years old, including two Salt Lake City residents, Olympians (Athens Summer Games): Justin Wilcock and Rachelle Smith.

Beyond teaching sport yoga and movement to high-level athletes, Joanne has been trained in and taught yoga for people with Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, scoliosis, pre- and post-natal women, and seniors.  Her combined educational and professional background gives her an anatomically-based approach that makes her style of teaching yoga effective and joyful for every student.

Karan Estee

A native of South Carolina, Karan has been teaching yoga for the last three years and developing her own practice for the last seven. She is also a certified personal trainer at the Jewish Community Center and owns her own business teaching whitewater kayaking.
